Birth Control?

Has anybody who has depression and was put onto birth control and helped? by the way. I am 15.
Answer:
If the doctor think it is related to hormonal imbalances, then yes, BC will work because BC balances out your hormones by giving you a consistent dosage of hormones. If the depression is not a result of hormonal imbalance, then you will need to try meds like prozac, zoloft, etc to see if they will help you, because they balance out neurotransmitter imbalances, which also cause depression.
No.

Going on the pill when you have depression can make it worse.
My best friend in school had hormones all over the place and some times of the month she'd get really depressed and low, she was put on BC for two years when she was 14 to 16 and by the time she came off the BC her hormones and cycle had evened out and she was fine again.

Ask your doctor and they might be able to answer any questions. BC will help, but only if it's hormone related depression.
no.. it makes it worse. one of the side effects of birth control is mood swings and depression. if you already have this then i would not recommend going on them. IF you do choose to then you need to pick one that has a steady constant flow of hormones ie the ring or the patch and not the pill.
also how about trying an antidepressant??
